Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE universal champion, may have defended his championship on Saturday by defeating Jey Uso in Tribal Combat, but The Head of the Table was not spared from the SummerSlam main event.

Reigns was hurt early in the match, according to claims corroborated by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, but he is still anticipated to perform on SmackDown and there are currently no plans for him to skip any scheduled appearances.

WWE will have struck it lucky if The Tribal Chief manages to make it to all of his appearances and the injury does not keep him away from the squared circle for a prolonged period of time.

Reigns is too important to its long-term storyline plans, even without knowing the degree of the injury, and the thought of him even conceivably missing time must have had officials in that organisation sweating bullets.

Fortunately, it seems like the 38-year-old will continue the story that has captivated the wrestling community, at least for the time being. Of course, given his timetable, he might get hurt and yet manage to stay on track.

WWE, however, cannot afford to lose him now or anytime soon due to his significance to the organization’s overall plot and the part he will likely play come WrestleMania 40 season, so any good news regarding the injury is welcome news.
